Celebrating the Retirement of Dr. John Roffers: A Pillar of OHOW

After an impactful career spanning several decades, Dr. John Roffers has announced his retirement. His remarkable career with Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin and the wider medical community has been nothing short of extraordinary.  

Dr. Roffers played an instrumental role in establishing numerous medical practices at OHOW. For over 20 years, he served as the Medical Director, guiding the institution with unwavering dedication and expertise. His leadership extended to the Medical Executive Committee, where he served as Chief of Medicine, shaping the future of medical care and practice at OHOW.  

Before OHOW’s establishment, Dr. Roffers made significant contributions to the field during his tenure at Columbia Hospital and the Musculoskeletal Institute. His extensive experience and deep connection to the medical community laid the groundwork for his impactful career at OHOW.  

Throughout his career, Dr. Roffers specialized in electrodiagnostic medicine, a field requiring a meticulous approach to diagnosis and patient care. He expertly combined patient history, physical examinations, and advanced testing methods, such as laboratory or MRI studies, to diagnose various conditions. His proficiency in electromyography and nerve conduction studies was crucial in evaluating nerve and muscle function, providing invaluable information to referring physicians for further patient care.  

Dr. Roffers’ commitment to patient care and his colleagues has left an impactful mark on OHOW. Thousands of patients and numerous staff members have benefited from his kind and expert medical care. His retirement marks the end of an era, but his legacy will continue to inspire and influence the OHOW community.
